Some septic tanks don’t have effluent filters on them, but that can lead to problems. If you don’t have a filter, you need to consider an effluent filter installation. These filters will increase the lifespan of your entire septic system.

Do You Need an Effluent Filter Installation?

How Effluent Filters Work
Effluent Filter Installation
If you have an effluent filter, all of the waste will have to pass through it before exiting the septic tank. The filters remove the larger solids so they don’t make it into your pipes and your drain field. Then, when we pump your tank, we can remove the solids that the filter left in the tank.

Dangers of Solid Waste in the Drain Field

If you fail to get an effluent filter installation, you run the risk of solid waste making it out to your drain field. If it makes it out to your drain field, it will likely clog it up. Once the drain field stops draining the effluent, you will have to contact us at Southeastern Septic, LLC. We will try to repair your drain field for you, but if that is not possible, you will need to get a new one. This is much more expensive than it is to get a simple effluent filter installation.

It is easy to forget about your septic system until there is a problem, but it is much smarter to take a proactive approach. With an effluent filter installation, you can avoid ending up with solid waste in your drain field, which means you can keep your septic system running for decades.
