How to Tell if You Need Septic Tank Pumping
If your home or commercial property has a septic tank, then the most important thing you will need to do in order to maintain it is to have it regularly pumped. Septic tank pumping is a process designed to remove collected waste material from your tank to make room for more and prevent the tank from overflowing. Although most septic companies–including ours –will put their clients on a pumping schedule to ensure that things never reach that point, it never hurts to keep an eye on your system and call for extra pumping if you need it. In this article, our team will go over a few ways to tell whether you need septic tank pumping in the near future.

Sewage Backup- One indication that you are overdue for septic tank pumping is sewage backups. This occurs when there is no room left in your tank, so new waste is forced back up through your pipes and into your drains
Strong Smells- Another sign that you probably need septic tank pumping is the smell of sewage. Septic tanks are designed to keep their foul odors contained, so if you are smelling them inside your home or business or outside near the tank, your system clearly isn’t doing its job.
Slow Drains- A third sign that you need septic tank pumping is slow or frequently clogged drains. When your tank is overly full, it takes water longer to drain into it because there is not enough room for it to flow through easily.
